Serpent and Cross

This is a symbol used in the degrees of Knight Templar and Knight of the Brazen Serpent, with the serpent twined around the cross. This symbol points to the incident in which Moses placed the Brazen Serpent on a pole as a remedy for the bite of the poisonous serpents that infested the camp for all who would look in faith, and to the fact that Jesus Christ fulfilled this type in his death on the cross. The Brazen serpent of the healing of the Israelites and a type of Christ's death for the sins of man… – ( Numbers 21:9 - John 3:14,15 )
