Sash

A broad width of the ribbon of an order that is worn across the left or right shoulder and gathered at the opposite hip. When a sash is used, the badge is often connected at the gathering to a box or rosette made of the ribbon. The ends of the sash can be fringed or cut in a straight, diagonal, or serrated line.
