Annual Communication

Grand Lodges generally hold only one annual meeting; thus retaining the ancient custom of a yearly Grand Assembly. In some jurisdictions it is customary for the three principal Lodge officers to receive a per diem allowance for their mileage and travelling expenses for attending these annual communications.
